Ummah University College holds a workshop on establishing a unit for people with disabilities and facilitating their integration into higher education
Jerusalem – The Ummah University College held a workshop aimed at raising awareness of the need to integrate people with disabilities into higher education within the framework of the Education for All (EDU4ALL) project, which includes developing the capabilities of the college staff in facilitating their inclusion in it.
The workshop was titled “Establishing a Unit for People with Disabilities and Developing the Capacity of the College’s Staff to Facilitate Their Integration into Higher Education”, seeking to raise awareness of the objectives and management of the Education for All (EDU4ALL) project, in the presence of the Dean of the College, the Administrative and Academic Vice President, heads of departments and all academic and administrative staff.
Presented by Eng. Abdul Mohsen Al Qawasmi An overview of the Education for All (EDU4ALL) project, which includes introducing partners, establishing the People with Disabilities Unit, policies, legislation, admission and registration procedures, guidance and academic support.
As spoken by A. Ayman Ghalayni on the Unit for Students with Disabilities, its objectives and tasks in the light of the Greek experience. While Eng. Mai Ebeid The importance of developing and rehabilitating higher education institutions in terms of infrastructure, equipment and assistive technology, providing examples of assistive technologies, and a presentation by Eng. Ahmed Dridi briefed on some of the equipment that will be purchased for the project.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the discussion was opened to present the importance of establishing this unit for students with disabilities in order to empower them academically, socially and psychologically by following up their access to the college and their development and ensuring equity, quality and sustainability of the project.
